Chapter 8
Explain Imperialism and its growth in the 1800’s.
Compare and contrast Imperialist views versus anti‐imperialist views in the US during the time of the Spanish‐American War.
Analyze the events leading up to and following the Spanish-American War.
Describe the causes of the Spanish American War (cause) and the results in regards to US foreign economy and US business abroad (effect).
Identify the areas where the US gained influence and new territories.

Compare and contrast Imperialist views versus anti‐imperialist views in the US during the time of the Spanish‐American War.
